NETBOOK with Windows XP does not connect to Netgear router

I have an unique problem that nobody has been able to help. My samsung Netbook with windows XP does not connect to my Netgear router. Surprisingly the netbook connects to all other Routers. The Netbook recognizes the router. When I connect it does ask for the password and then it shows are ever connecting and never gets connected. While all my other computers that is on WIN7 have no issues while connecting to the Netgear router.

First off, you should not even be using XP to access the internet anymore. Microsoft support for XP ended in March and since then millions of viruses have been released to take advantage of unpatched security holes in XP. The best antivirus in the world cannot protect you from these attacks because even the best security system in the world is useless if the thief knows the code to turn it off. The only secure way to use XP now days is to run it on a system that has no possible connection to the internet.

Problems like what you are experiencing are going to become more and more common as XPs end of life gets farther and farther in the past. Your best bet would be to upgrade your operating system. Upgrading your operating system will most likely fix your router connection issue and keep you secure to boot. It's a two for one deal. I would recommend Windows 7 starter for a netbook, but even that might be too heavy for your weak hardware. Since you are going to have to learn a whole new operating system anyways, why not make the switch to a Linux OS. I have to tell you that there are many great Linux versions out there that run pretty much like windows and are many time faster then XP (honestly, I do not even know how you were running XP on a netbook unless you stop installing updates years ago).
