Question Netflix and Spotify cause my pc to lag hard

So when I've been using spotify or netflix for more than a few hours they cause my pc to lag badly when switching episodes/songs and when loading the site up. My pc completely freezes up to a fraction of a frame per second which lasts up to about 15 seconds

I've tried chrome, firefox and the netflix windows app and they all cause the same issue. I don't often use spotify so havent tried it out on anything other than chrome yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have no idea whats causing this and cant find any info anywhere on how to fix

my specs are rx 480, i5 6500, 1x8gb ram, 250gb ssd

Hi, cpu temp is in the low 50 Celsius, gpu is stable at 79 and ram usage is about 50-60%

PSU is a corsair 650w, older green label model though, not a newer grey one.

Yea the temps are after about 6 hours of usage while running OldSchoolRunescape and having chrome open on twitch or netflix the whole time.
