I've had an issue with this modem router that originated on my laptop. The ethernet connection would keep on disconnecting every 20 minutes or so but the connection status on the bottom taskbar showed I was perfectly connected. Command prompt's ping to websites worked fine however? I had to either power cycle my modem router or disable and then re enable the ethernet network adapter to get my internet access back, but the problem still persists!!!
I have another desktop connected to the same modem router that had no issues, it was perfectly fine since I used it all day yesterday with no disconnections. But today, I am constantly disconnecting on this desktop and I don't know why. It is basically a repeat of my laptop's problem with the same "temporary solution".
This problem has worsened, my laptop can no longer connect to the ethernet and wireless connections of the modem router, both my desktop and laptop sometimes are unable to enable or disable network adapters, command prompt won't even ping websites at all, and if it does it is with request timed out.
I have searched all over the internet to find this problem, but I guess no one has experienced it before? I myself am really baffled by this issue. My internet speed is over 200 mbps with no packet loss, low ping and jitter, but what is the use of this if I keep disconnecting constantly? Also, I have no idea if my adapter is disabling itself or not, because when I check the network adapters, they are all enabled. I have had to disable then re enable for the "temporary fix". Never before has this ever happened to me.
-Resetting my modem router does not solve the problem.
-This modem router is at home, whenever I head back to my college dorm, my internet access on my laptop is good.
-Windows diagnostics does not identify the problem.
-Network adapters troubleshooter does not identify any problem with the adapters.
-Games like League of Legends, while in-game, do not disconnect me while I lose internet access, which is weird.
-I lose internet access in exact time intervals, around 20 min.
-All network adapters are updated.
-Tried ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release then ipconfig /reset. Same result as disabling then enabling network adapters. I get internet back for a bit, then I disconnect.
-In CMD, Lease Obtained and Lease Expires are exactly 24 hours apart.
-The ethernet and wifi connection statuses in the bottom right corner shows no red X, yellow exclammation mark. It's properly connected.
