Netgear R6900 vs Sagemcom fast 5260

Hi all,

I installed my R6900 expecting to see a big difference in performance - nope. I might even say the Fast 5260 has a slight edge in speed over the R6900.

Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not streaming video yet (just moved in), just observing website download performance.In general terms,,,, the difference is really a push and a let down.

Also, please keep in mind my computer skills are extremely limited.

They are pretty similar the 5260 is a 3 stream and the 6900 is a 4 stream. But there are almost no devices that are 4 stream. So their real world performance is probably very similar.

What router would I need to see a significant speed increase over these two routers (5260 v r9600)?

It isn't a router thing, IMO. If you want better WIFI you need multiple WIFI sources (access points). You should also move as much as possible to 5Ghz and or wired connectivity.
