I cannot connect to anything suddenly.
Windows 7
The Network adapter is present and enabled. I can see lights flashing. I reinstalled the driver... device manager is fine. I uninstalled AVG antivirus, I disabled the Windows firewall. I reset the winsock catalog, and reset ipv4 and ipv6. I confirmed that ipv4 and ipv6 are set to automatically obtain... I even connected a Netgear USB wifi adapter to rule out the NIC... this had the same result. nothing new has been installed, but I did a system restore to remove a windows critical update from the day prior to the issue starting... no luck.

Solution
You could try these:

1. Insert the NIC on a different PCI slot.
2. Disable onboard network adapter if there is one to prevent conflicts from BIOS.
3. Uninstall the present drivers and let windows update search the best drivers
4. Check jumpers and connectors
