Hi,
I'm writting because I'm having this problem with my new PC, my entire "Network Connections" folder is empty. I used to have Ubuntu until yesterday, when I deleted it and formated it, and installed win7 ultimate 64 bits.

I tried deleting the config value in the register and tried re-installing windows but nothing worked. I also tried copying realtek ethernet drivers from my other pc and install it in this one but the only "progress" was that it appear a local area connection of realtek but it was disabled and there is no way to enable it. Equally, after a reboot it disappeared.
Hope you could help me figure out what happen.
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Another thing to take into account is that I don't have any windows update and don't know how to update without internet

1. Type regedit in RUN or start menu search box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network

3. In right-side pane, you'll see a binary key "Config". Select it and press Delete key on your keyboard. You just need to delete Config key.

4. Once you delete the key, close Registry Editor and open Network Connections folder again and now it should show all network adapters without any problem.

I have the disk and I re-installed windows, but I think that the problem is that I don't hace ANY windows update, it just installed windows

You should be able to update after installing Windows. You will also need the correct network adaptor from the PC's vendor's website. What is the make and model of your machine?
