Network icon not appearing taskbar

Dear sir;
Network icons does not appear on task bar menu.

Kindly resolve.

Control Panel -> network connections. Right click local area connection and select properties. Check the box for show icon in notification area when connected.

I'm sure it's similar in other windows OS's.
