Hello! This is been happening to me for a long time. Even though I'm wired, with one of Canada's best ISP, Rogers, I get lag. Most notably when playing videos games like CSGO. My ping is usually fine, but it changes super fast, like from 30-50ms. My internet is stable, but randomly goes out (Modem is still on, but no internet access). I have 100 download, 10 upload. Can someone please help me solve this problem?

Anyone?

Change your primary DNS to 208.67.222.222 (OpenDNS), your router could be retrieving the DNS from your modem, which gets it automatically from your ISP. Setting a custom DNS directly on your computer overrides the DNS that the router retrieves.

You are connected via ethernet directly from your cable modem, how does your modem have a router connected to it when your using direct from modem? I don't understand lol. Do you mean you are connected from your router thats connected via ethernet from modem? When it d/c what are the lights on the modem? Any different then normal?

I'm using a modem that's called ROGERS ac. It is a modem with a built in router. It sometimes disconnects, and the wireless 2.4ghz and 5ghz sign stops flashing and the light turns off for those two. Even when the internet isn't disconnected, my connection is slow, though I get the proper download and upload speeds.

Still Rogers is the fastest
