Hi All,

I have just purchased a new printer (HP F4200 All-in-One Series)
I installed the drivers on my pc and everything was fine. Print scan copy all worked.
Then my wife and kids wanted to use the printer from their PC's/laptops.
This is where my problem started I clicked on the printer properties and clicked to shareover the network.
I went over to my wife’s pc and clicked to add printer, it installed the needed drivers and all was well (or so I thought)
I tried to print a test page from my wife’s pc (opened notepad and wrote a few lines) clicked print and away it went.
Nothing printed so I went to have a look at my pc to see what had happened and on screen was an error message saying "Spooler Subsystem App has encountered a problem". I checked in the services and sure enough the print spooler had switched to "stopped".

I uninstalled all the drivers from my pc and installed them again and again it worked fine on my pc until I clicked to share it and tried to print from the other pc.

Both pc's are running win xp pro sp3

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Bushie,

Have you tried going into control panel on each system and doing the setup home network wizard.

I did that and it let us print from my wifes computer to the printer thats on mine.

Exact same problem here. I've tried everything. Worked on it until 4am last night. HP 4280 all-in-one.

Did online chat help with HP, ran Microsoft "fixes" (manual and automatic) Installed all software and updates on both computers, ran network wizard on both computers. Hook printer directly to the other computer and tried printing the opposite direction with the same error.

Found everything having to do with my old Lexmark all-in-one and delete it. Reinstalled printer and software, and updates i don't know how many times.

Both computer are XP Home. Running a D-Link WBR-1310 router. This desktop is hooked up ethernet to router, the laptop is running wireless.

It also will turn off the print spooler in services when the error comes up.

Any updates? I'm having the exact same problem

Select printer and right click on properties.Go to Advanced, Print Processor and select the Winprint processor.

This worked!!! Thank you! Thank you! We were fighting this for quite a while. We have 2 remote XP systems happily printing to the 4280 connected locally to a 3rd networked XP.

I think that your case is not very hard, as it seems. So, you should reboot all your computers and laptop, then add printer to your local computer. Install the drivers from the official website of the vendor. Then test your printer, printing anything. After that you should add this printer to the second computer and install the same drivers and print. Then repeat these action for your laptop. Everything should work.
One secret: if your Windows is of Home addition, then probably it is not able to work with such many computers and HP printer has print spooler error (these two facts are axioms). If these facts are about your case then you should add your printer to XP prof and try to add on the other computers.
If you tried this and it was not helpful for you then follow this link and read more about print spooler problems and the methods of their solution: http://www.printer-spooler.com
