I have a canon MG2522 printer and it can't directly connect to the network. So I'm trying to use the PC it's connected to as a print server but I just can't figure out why in won't work. I've gone into the print properties and did the network sharing stuff but when I try to connect to it with my other PC it tells me to put in a user and pass and I put in the info but it comes back with "user or pass is incorrect". I've tried a few other methods and none have worked. How do I do this????????????????????

Solution
Does the PC that won't connect to it have wireless capabilities?
If so, install the drivers on that PC and during the install, it'll give you the option to connect wirelessly.
I had a similar problem with my wife's laptop not finding the printer I had connected to my desktop via USB cable.
The laptop was asking me for username and password (it's on the same network too) but I just couldn't get it to connect to the printer.
I downloaded the drivers for the printer onto her laptop and during the install, it asked me if I wanted to connect wirelessly to the printer.
I selected that option and the laptop made a connection to the printer.

I'm not sure if this will work in your situation but you may want to give it a try if there are no...

Is scanning important or only printing?
Does your router have a USB port that supports printers ?

I just need printing and no my router doesn't have usb and if it did the router would be too far to connect
Update: I've figured out the login and the printer is there but now when I try to connect to it it tells me that "windows cannot connect to the printer"

Good Luck! Printers getting connected to networks and PC's getting connected to networks and/or each other can be a pain sometimes.

On both PCs, create new account with same user name and password. Use this user for attaching to the shared printer
