Hi guys,
I've tried to reset my network as Windows File Sharing was not recognizing my other PC. After doing so, I got an unidentified network (on main PC). So I tried the following to no avail:
I can also see the automatic IP assigned is 169.254...
So I have a D-Link router in our living room connected to a TP Link desktop switch. From the desktop switch, I have my 2 PCs and my TV connected (all cannot connect to the network at this point). Other devices on the D-Link router can connect to the network/internet. I tried taking the TP Link out of the equation and the internet works. I guess my other question is, can resetting the network stuff up my TP Link desktop switch?

- disabled and enabled adapter
- uninstall adapter and reinstalled; also tried uninstalling and restarting
- I tried the cmd ipconfig prompts, dnsflush, netsh winsock and IP reset
- disabled ipv6
- assigned an IP, subnet mask and gateway
- Reboot and restored to default my router
I can also see the automatic IP assigned is 169.254...
