[SOLVED] Network Variances

Speed variances:

paying for 400 meg

#1 - 1gb ethernet nic card connect cat5e to spectrum modem:
speed test shows 10 meg
#2 - plug ethernet line into router:
speed test shows 200 meg
#3 - Use 802.11ac wireless card connect to router:
speed test 440 meg
I would like to use direct connect (cat5e) to modem and receive 400 meg via my nic card which is my #1 example....
What gives???

What is the model number hardware you have? Motherboard, router, any other network equipment.
The first thing that should ALWAYS be questioned (and swapped out) is the network cable. There...

The first thing that should ALWAYS be questioned (and swapped out) is the network cable. There are thousands of junk cables being sold. Flat cables and aluminum cables are junk. Get a basic Cat5e 100% copper cable like this one -- https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Flexboot-Cat5e-Ethernet-Patch/dp/B00KWS7GAC DON'T fall for the marketing hype of CAT6, CAT7, CAT8... Just get a Cat5e like this one and test.
