I just replaced my GTX 560 with an MSI GTX 970 OC and cleaned out all the dust from the fans and heatsink etc. However, I am hearing a never-ending beeping from start-up from the buzzer thing attached to the motherboard. I am able to use my computer as normal but the beeping never stops. However, when I put my PC into standby then resume, the beeping doesn't come back so it seems only booting up the PC causes it. I'm hoping it's only the buzzer that's faulty but I highly doubt it so I'd appreciate it if somebody could help me.

System:

Mobo: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
CPU: Intel i5 3570k (OC to 4GHz)
SSD: Crucial M500 120GB
RAM: 2 x 4GB Corsair XMS3
GPU: MSI GTX 970 OC
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 1TB
PSU: Cooler Master M1000 1000 Watt

Are you using an all-in-one cooling system or water loop? I suspect the beeping is a CPU fan error warning that does not turn off after the fan gets to speed. Often you will get that warning if the CPU fan does not get to speed in the time BIOS expects it but it's supposed to go away once the fan gets to speed. If, instead of logging in at the windows screen you do a restart, the noise ends then also?

I'm using the Hyper 212 EVO heatsink. To be honest, I haven't changed the thermal paste in over a year so I'm wondering if that could be the problem? My temperatures are normal though (around 27-30 C) at idle. Not sure about restarting though, I'd have to check that when I get home.
