New 240hz Monitor Lag?

Hi, so recently I bought a new 240hz alienware monitor and it's all fine but when I play a game and the fps changes rapidly, the monitor freezes for a half a second. So for example I'm playing with 180fps and it jumps to 230fps that's when it freezes. Can you guys provide any help? I have a gtx 1080 and it's a freesync monitor so I don't know if that could cause an issue.

Never seen a monitor cause lagg and btw for 240Hz you need to push 240+ frames. Install MSI Afterburner and see if there is anything unusual like your ram and cpu.

It's fixed now. It was a mouse problem.

I remember when I first started using a 4k screen. It felt like weird 'lag' as well. Once I got a better mouse with a higher dpi, everything was fine.
