I checked newegg, this new 35w, mobile a64 2800 @1800 mhz, 1.20v. at USD 239.
this little ah heck has the potential to be a new overclocking monster like the mobile 2500+. of course only thing im curious about will the multiplier be unlocked all the way if not then it will not be good.but if its omg we can reach 2500mhz no problem with the new versions of socket754 chips. what do you guys think?anyone any info on this ah heck whether it will be unlocked all the way?

They're not overclocking monsters, they have reduced cache, therefore die size much smaller, so they just use defective dies from their 1mb brothers, therefore you'll have one hell of a time trying to get to 2.5Ghz, if you got the cash go for the Athlon64 3400+ right now, even the 1mb version can break 2500mhz. And for all athlon64's only down multipliers are unlocked.

I would recommend any Nforce3 250 motherboard, even Nforce3 150 will do the job. It would be great if you can get some low latency PC3500 ram, all you need is 227FSB, so bump up the vdimm on the ram, keep the timings low, and raise the HT to 227, on the NForce3 250 you may want to try to use 5xHT, it may work, but most likely won't, so you'll probably gonna have to use 4X.

Their is only 1 thing i have to mention about the mobo, make sure it can pump at least 1.75Vcore through the CPU, because it's very likely that the AMD's 1.7 recommendation won't do it.

since the new cpus from amd is so darn expensive 3400 seems to be a good choice. i was thining of getting msi neo platinium its the new nforce motherboard with agp/pci lock or the abit kv8 pro that uses via's new motherboard. i have the mushkin 3200 level 2 ram.i want to use them donno if they can reach 227 mhz though. i did reach 215 no problem before didnt even relax the timings but never tried beyond that.thanks for the help mate!
