Folks
have splashed out on an XFX 6600GT and installed the drivers
that came with it, 66.81. Am currently playing HL2 and Far Cry with a
bit of Need for Speed UG2 thrown in. Can anyone recommend more recent
drivers that could offer some worthwhile improvements.
I'm a bit conservative and tend to stick with WHQLs whenever possible.

All help appreciated.

Is it better to get them from
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_71.84.html
or
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1001
? What is the difference between those, if any?
(The guru3d ones do seem to have a smaller download)

When updating drivers I've found it better to uninstall the old ones,
reboot, then install the new ones. It may be better still to clean
out the old ones properly with http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Though I haven't actually had any problems I can remember when
just installing the new ones on top of the old ones.

Mess with a RoomMate - Every time your roommate walks in yell, "Hooray!
You're back!" as loud as you can and dance around the room for five minutes.
Afterwards, keep looking at your watch and saying, "Shouldn't you be going now?"

I like getting mine from guru3d, but I don't think there is any difference
unless you get one of the "brand-specific" drivers that are sometimes
listed.
