I just built a new core system, moving over my graphics card and storage.
New parts:
7800X3D
Gigabyte Aurous Elite B650 (Rev 1.2)
2x16gb DDR5 6000mhz CL30 from Corsair
Other parts:
MSI Ventus RTX 4070 Ti
980 Pro 2Tb main drive
2 samsung sata SSDs for extra storage
1000W gold PSU
(Old parts of the curious):
i9 9900k
32gd DDR4
The issue is that after leaving the computer fully powered off, it won't boot up on the first try. I can usually resolve this by either A) power off and powering on again or B) removing a component (1 of the two DIMMS or the boot drive) then booting into BIOS, then shutting down and trying again. It's almost like the motherboard is stuck trying to boot up and needs its memory refreshed on how to do that.
I have tried just running 1 DIMM, it will still sometimes fail to boot. EXPO is currently disable (I think it resets every so often during this strange behavior)
When the computer is on it runs marvelously. 1,800 ST in CB R23 and 18,000 in multi. Games run super faster, no major stuttering or anything.
I have also updated the BIOS to the latest FA2a. The issues was present before this.
I'm overdue for a clean install of windows, so that could be my next step. I'd be more inclined to think this is the issue if windows didn't boot but would POST fine, but the motherboard will fail to boot even without a boot drive sometimes.
If that fails, I guess I am returning the motherboard and getting a different one (perhaps the MSI Tomahawk).
This thread seems to be having a similar issue but no resolution. Its another gigabyte board:

Any suggestions?
