New 970 won't work when installed.

I bought a Nvidia GTX 970 to replace my 680, uninstalled drivers, & put it in, but all I get is a black screen

I already returned a faulty 970 already, and no. 2 is giving me the same problem. My PSU is 950w.

Could it be my motherboard or a severe case of bad luck?

Many motherboards requires a bios update to work with the newer cards. Have you updated the bios?

Try using driver sweeper as well. it shouldnt be the issue as both old & new are nvidia but try it anyway.

I take it your are using your old GPU in the mean time? I'd suggest send it back again.

My BIOS is MSI ClickBIOS 2 & I'm installing Winki hoping to update it from there. From what I can gather it isn't an easy process...
