new an8 won't boot

just got this board but it starts but no video and goes no further. I have a abit x700 pro 256, rosewill 500w psu, ozc 512x1 ram, venice 3200 cpu. Can anyone help me? thanks

Did you connect the extra 4 pin mainboard power and video power (if it is there)?
Try booting with one instead of 2 sticks of RAM.

I put one of those together. I had alot of problems because I had the jumper wrong on the dvd rom that I used to install the os. I Changed that and all was fine. I also Had problems when I tried to oc. This was on a board with the fist bios release.
You might want to try clearing the cmos, put in one stick of ram, pull out all the other ancillary cards in the slots, and see if you can boot that way. You did a clean install right?
