i got my new asus rog laptop 2 weeks ago and now it wont charge, just says 99% plugged in not charging. it does not have a visible battery i think its in the laptop.
for mysteriosly: i got it below 70% a few times (over 3-5) but recharaging it just makes it to 99% again.
for sgtscream: i cant take the battery out its not visible.
forgot to say, it also displays green light if its charged or not
Laptop stops charging @ 99% so it doesn't screw the battery. Working as intended.
First off, since you just got this laptop, id contact Asus technical support.
Secondly, it's only 1% off. Try misteriosly's fix above before proceeding with my suggestions below.
Examine the ac adapter. Something might be loose. If the ac adapter has two sections, try unplugging and plugging it back in.
I've had similar issues with hp laptops.
My fix was exactly in this order:
1. Taking the battery out.
2. Re-seating the memory.
3. Hold down the power button for 5 seconds.
4. Install the battery back into the chasis.
5. Test to see if the windows status states plugged in, charging.

I don't think you have a problem. Contact Asus technical support if your that concerned.

it is supposedly because laptops stop charging when they hit 90%+ battery so they dont overheat, it doesnt do performance problems so i dont have any problem with that
