Hello. Debating on if I need to return this motherboard or something... I have AT&T Fiber and never have any network issues. However, after getting this board, I installed the latest ethernet driver and every game I was playing was starting to lag very badly after just a little bit, even though they started out fine. Now, I am trying a previous driver, and it seems a lot better, but I am running tests at https://packetlosstest.com/ over and over again, and while usually there is no packet loss at all, sometimes there will be a lot, usually in the received part. For example there was no packet loss in sent and a bunch in received just now, equaling about 31.8%. I am running them while playing a game as well.

Another issue is the MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 module. It seems to work fine for a while but eventually in device manager it always gets a yellow ! caution symbol and has an error that it could not start, error code 10. I usually fix this by reinstalling drivers and/or rebooting. I am not using Wi-Fi at the moment, but I'm trying to make sure everything on my new board works properly.

Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Try and manually reinstall the latest chipset drivers sourced from AMD's support site.

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi
BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time?

What OS are you working with? If you're on Windows 11, what version(not edition) of the OS are you on? What driver versions have you tied thus far for both the Ethernet and WiFi adapter?

Trying the drivers from AMD's site now. I'm on the latest BIOS, 1605.

Windows 11 24H2

The driver that gave me the most issues with ethernet was the latest driver from the MoBo support site.
Realtek LAN Driver V1126.21.901.2024 for Windows 11.(WHQL).

My current driver I just let windows install. It says it is version 9.1.412.2015.

The Wi-Fi driver I have tried:

MTK WiFi Driver V5.6.0.3998 for Windows 11 64-bit.

MTK WiFi Driver V5.4.0.3044 for Windows 11 64-bit. (currently)

and new issue, the Wi-Fi just completely vanished from Device Manager this time and Wi-Fi is not available.

If after reinstalling the chipset drivers followed by rebooting, doesn't bring back the WiFi adapter, try manually reinstalling the WiFi driver. If that doesn't work, try and downgrade the BIOS version to 1512 clear the CMOS and then try the Wireless adapter's drivers.

If you have a spare drive, drop that in and disconnect all other drives, reinstall the OS in offline mode, then manually install all relevant drivers in offline mode, with elevated commands, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

If that doesn't work, then you should RMA the board for faulty networking gear on the board.

Man, I don't want to jinx anything but so far it seems like the new chipset drivers straight from AMD have fixed the issue. I originally installed the latest straight from my motherboard support site. Not sure why this would fix it, but so far so good. I have even went back to the latest drivers for both the LAN and Wi-Fi that caused me the most issues before.

Will update. Thank you.

Edit:
Is a 0.1% packet loss normal sometimes with Fiber though? I never watched it so closely before but I am still getting that sometimes now and now I feel paranoid about it, want to make sure my hardware is all good before my return window closes.
