New Build - 6600k or 4690k

I want to start fresh and do a new build, cant decide between the 4690k or the 6600k the prices are nearly identical the 6600k with z170 pro asus is at 319.98 while the 4690k paired with the z97a asus is at 319.98
bundles at micro center
open to options
I just want something thats going to last me another 4-5 years and do some gaming, and possible editing, thanks guys

my budget 600-700 i got an old gtx 660 2gb asus but possibly going to replace it anyway

* also want to know if I'm limited in RAM and cost range, I searched some up but came up with mixed answers and thought to ask here,

6600k with Z170, latest CPU from intel. Check the RAM's, you will need DDR4 if you choose which i previously mentioned.

The 4690 is a dead socket with no CPU upgrades in the future. With the Z170, you should be able to upgrade to Intel's new CPUs later on. I'd go with Skylake 6600k for sure.
