Hey all. Want to build a new computer. Never done it by myself before. Cant fully decide between Ryzen 5/7 or i5/7. Also cant pull the trigger on a case. But I like the Corsair cases and the CoolerMaster 500 with the 200mm rgb fans. I also need it to have magnetic filters cuz I have cats. I also like the Phanteks cases.

I wanna get max power for as little as possible and I want it to be a noob friendly build, but I also want some RGB and for the case to look nice.

Was thinking something like this for Ryzen

And for Intel

Advice? Changes?

Go 100% for AMD

165 bucks for a 8c16t cpu inc. Rgb cooler is just amazing.

Now your config.:

You took a x570 mobo. It's only really necessary if you take a gen. 4 M.2 drive and a 3000 series amd cpu. Your 2700x will run just as fine on a b450 board.

Your psu is way to much. A bronze 650w will do the job pretty good unless you already want to upgrade pretty soon.

And for the case: take a look at the corsair iCue series cases 😉

It's basically the same, but the cpu was changed to a 3700X.

Don’t get intel, only good for niche things atm.

consider the NZXT H500? Great for starting in as it offers good cable management and has plenty of places for stuff like SSDs and such.

Maybe I am too old to appreciate the actual case (my 100R has a window, but, as it sits on my left side, the window faces away so I cannot see it anyway!), or, money blown on said case of it's accompanying RGB fans...

I do know I'd much rather have a simple sub$60 case (Corsair 100R/200) and instead spend money on the things that matter, like CPU, mainboard, GPU, RAM, SSD, etc... :)

(Sure as the sun rises, someone right now is likely purchasing an R5-1500 with a GTX1650 to save money and yet blowing $199 on a case and insert 3 each $40 RGB fans as if they will help....with anything.)
