I did research on my own about what works well together and what I wanted and am ordering this today but wanted to see what someone else though. I already have the case NIB from several years ago, so I don't care about it being out of stock.

  • From everything I could find the Ryzen 7 is better for games than the Ryzen 9 because of X3D Cache. It would be better than the larger number of cores on the Ryzen 9.
  • The RAM says its AMD Expo. 6000, but it seems 6000 is the best place to be with AMD from what I could find out.
  • I made sure to get ATX 3.1 PSU and probably overkill for this system, but I wanted this system to be "future proof" so it will last several years and be easier to upgrade.
  • I went with AMD even though I think Intel processors have been mostly fixed, but from what I found Intel is close to the end of its current line so it seems like any newer CPU might not use the LGA 1700 which leaves me unable to upgrade, but the AM5 should still be used for a long time (is this correct?). So, with an AM5 board I should be able to upgrade the CPU in the future if I want to.
  • I went through a lot of monitor reviews, and I think I picked a decent one. I think I am going to stay away from OLED right now because they seemed pretty hit or miss. I was initially going to get GIGABYTE AORUS CO49DQ 49" QD OLED, but I saw it had a lot of issue with randomly turning off and back on, so I don't know if I want to take the chance on it, but ideally, I would have rather had it because it's so much bigger and almost the same price as the one I picked.

Games I mainly play:
Dark Souls
Elden Ring
Sekiro
Baldur's Gate 3
Dragons Dogma 2
Oblivion Remaster
Skyrim
Witcher 3

Am I missing anything, or is there anything wrong with what I found out? Otherwise, I'm going to order this tonight.

You have a pretty good build, however, there are some optimizations that can be done. How important is the liquid cooler to you? Do you want ARGB anywhere? If so there are some good fans you can use to replace the ones that come with the AIO since I removed it. The CPU cooler I added is as good as 360mm AIOs in testing. The motherboard I added is better than the ASUS one IMO, especially the VRMs. When you get the motherboard make sure you flash to the latest BIOS version for the board and the CPU will be fine. You can do this with the BIOS flashback feature on the board without having to install the CPU. I have the Gigabyte 4k 240hz QD OLED monitor and love it. Have had nearly 0 issues with it. I added the best non OLED monitor to the build. I also added a 64GB kit of faster RAM. I added the fastest gen 5 NVMe drive for the OS, and a fast 4TB storage drive for games. I swapped the overpriced 5070 ti for a 5080.

How are you going to connect the Logitech z906 speakers to the PC. None of the good motherboards come with support for 5.1 or 7.1 analog connections. You can connect it via the optical cable but then you cannot do any amplifications or other sound enhancements easily. I also have a set of Logitec z906 speakers and love them.

What is your total budget for the PC?

I don't want any RBG stuff. I hate the lights. I was actually looking for a case without a window, but they are harder to find now from decent manufactures. My black 4000D will do fine. I'll just be shutting all the lights off and no reason to buy another case when I have a really nice one NIB. It's just been sitting in the basement for several years, but it was still factory sealed and in mint condition.

I went with the 280 AIO because the 4000D (I have the classic version) doesn't support a 360 at the top and front mounting it is going to be a pain because of the size of the GPU. I know I'll never be able to connect it properly, or the tubes will be resting on the GPU at the very least.

If that air cooler you have is able to cool the CPU I bought without an AIO, that would be great. I really didn't want an AIO but couldn't find anything else that I felt safe using as far as air coolers.

I'll go through the rest of your list and also check out that monitor after lunch and then post back.

Thanks.

EDIT: For the 5.1 I am planning on using this:

What monitor do you have, the AORUS CO49DQ?

This is the issue I'm talking about with that:

The Thermalright Pretor 130 is a beast of a CPU cooler. Here is a review. You can get the glass sprayed with black paint to give it that non-windowed look. There are so many ways to make a window not look like one these days.

Skipping the ARGB is the right choice in my opinion. I did it all once, and I don't think I ever will again.

That optical cable for the Logitec z906's will work.

This is the monitor I currently have. Its the Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P 31.5" 4k 240hz QD OLED. I love it to death and can actually push a ton of frames to it with my 5090.

My monitor has never had that black screen issue.
