Hi there,

So I recently upgraded my PC quite a bit. Current system specs are:
Ryzen 7 5800X3D (Good temps)
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus
Corsair LPX 32GB(2x16GB in slots 2+4) CL18 3600 (XMP on)
MSI MECH 2X RX 6700 XT (undervolted by -50mhv to stabilise temps, happens regardless however)
Silent Loop 2 240mm cooler
750W titanium rated PSU
WD Blue NVME SSD

Sadly however, I seem to be having low 1% lows in most games. For instance Battlefield 5 has this issue, Kingdom Come etc. There are sometimes visible stutters and sometimes it's just a slightly sluggish experience due to the lows.

Is there anything I can do? All temperatures are good with no evidence of throttling, BIOS is updated and Mobo is brand new (so no residue settings etc). SAM is also enabled, seems to do the same off however. GPU drivers on the latest, is there a recommended GPU driver to downgrade to for solving the issue?

Any help is much appreciated!

I echo @larsv8 and wonder if when you did this upgrade, if you did a clean install?

You mention an upgrade. Was this a replacement of parts from a prior build, in place as it were?
What were its previous specs.
Upgraded just the other day, from an old B450 and 3600 build. Same RAM and GPU.

Like I said above, unfortunately can't viably reinstall windows because of how much data I have saved on my drives (I have 5 aha). However, I am planning on getting a Gen 4 NVME SSD at some point, so when I do, I will do a fresh install then.

No I haven't, but can't really do that unfortunately. I have way too much data that can't be lost and no backup external drive.
This is really sad. No backup means your drive could fail at anytime and you loose everything.
Make sure XMP is enabled for the memory speed it affects AMD processors big time.

EDIT if you upgraded the motherboard most of the time a fresh install of the OS is needed.
You get about 3 different results from not doing this.
1 everything works fine, (usually not)
2 it just don't work.
3 looks like it you chase problems for months.

Oh yeah no I totally get my situation with drives etc is not good, I don't store extremely important information on any of my drives but I should still make a back up at some point.

Thank you for the tips, I am definitely going to have to bite the bullet and do a fresh install, I've needed one for a while anyway! XMP is enabled btw.

Get you a good backup routine ASAP a drive can fail at anytime. It might last 5 more years it might last 5 more minutes.

Yea, I can have fairly high confidence that a fresh install will significantly help.

Nothing in your hardware is going to hurt your lows.
So I did a "fresh" install today (I reinstalled windows and kept apps and files) and it seems to have helped quite a bit. Battlefield 5 was much better and other games seem to be alright now, some games seem to just be a little unstable by nature judging by others performance, but yeah, thanks for the tip, it seems to have worked!

I ran a command called "Windows Power Tools" to get rid of excess services and processes and it seems to have significantly sped up Windows and improved my 1% lows. Very happy!
