New build, do I need a video card?

Alright guys here is the problem
I just built my first computer today. It will be used for watching video files, Bluray, listening to music and some Light gaming ie. Cabelas dangerous hunts and eventually i woul like to get into newer better games like battle field series.
It is in the main room beside the TV which is a Samsung UE55F8090

I have noticed the picture is not great using the onboard video through HDMI Watching Blu ray or Mkv files so i think i need a video card the prblem is i have no clue what would be good for the system i will list the components below.

i find it a bit confusing that several manufacturers use the same model #'s ie. GTX 680ti if anyone could give me some advice on what are decent cards/manufactures I would appreciate it.

That's a great build, it really depends on the money you are willing to spend on the graphics card?

I did not get a card from the get go because I thought the onboard would do for tv right now with it saying it was 4k capable but on 55" it looks choppy on 1080p mkv or Bluray

I was thinking around 300.00 euro but if that is not adequate I could save up a bit this tapped me ou with christmas

Thats an incredibly powerful system in every category except graphics. While the i7 has decent onboard graphics for light applications, it is definitely holding you back. In my opinion there isn't much of a point to have put that much money into a system and then still rely on cpu imbedded graphics. For 150$ you could eliminate all issues related to video playback on multiple monitors/tv's. In order to get set up for games like Battlefeild as you mentioned, you may want to spend a little more. How much more depends on both your budget and how much you really care about games. The gtx780ti is the best of the best, and if your not a serious gamer, I wouldn't recommend it as it is incredibly expensive. An EVGA gtx770 may be a better option, somewhere in the 350$ range. Its all about what you want to spend...
