New Build. Do These Components Work Together?

This is my first build. It is a gaming computer and I am not a person that knows a ton about computers. I've spent around 5 hours looking up a ton about this but I'm still uncertain. The components I have so far come to around $1250 and I would like to keep it about that even if there are changes that you suggest. Here are the lists of components:

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K LGA 1150 ($280)
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-AR LGA 1150 Intel ATX ($140)
Memory(RAM): Corsair Vengeance Series 16GB DDR3-2400 PC3-19200 ($95)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 750W Watt Bronze ATX 12V Power ($90)
Video Card: ASUS GeForce Turbo GTX 970 Overclocked 4GB Blower ($330)
Case: Zalman Professional Full Tower Computer Case ($70)
Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition Liquid CPU ($67)
SSD: Crucial MX200 250GB mSATA Solid State Drive SSD ($90)

Would like to get a compatible HDD but not til a little later. And a really good one.

This is just for gaming? No need for an i7 and fancy water cooler. Also, don't get a reference style 970.
