New build failed to boot, any advice on where to start?

So, I put together a new gaming system, and honestly, I kind of rushed into some of these components without proper research, and I'm afraid I made some mistakes. I put it all together last night, and it powered up, but no video. I was too pressed for time to do any problem solving and I'm stuck at work right now and its killing me. Any advice on what might be wrong and where to start?

MOBO: Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7
CPU: i5 6500 Skylake 3.2
Memory: G Skill Ripjaw V Series 32GB (2x16) 3200
Video: Gigabyte Radeon R9 380x
1st HD: Intel 750 series AIC 400 GB PCI express (I've never worked with this type of HD)
2nd HD: Seagate 4TB gaming SSHD
Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX water cooling
Case: Corsair Carbide 500r

System lights up, all fans running, but no video at all through either the video card or onboard video through HDMI or DVI.

When home, try removing the graphics card (connect the monitor to the motherboard), leave single RAM module installed and start the board. Test each slot.

Step 1. Take out the GPU and try again. That will eliminate one possibility. I ALWAYS do a first boot (and complete benchmark) without the GPU installed if the computer will run that way (my Xeon 1321v3 will not)

You need to be deliberate and methodical. Do you have all of the GPU power connectors in the right places and connected properly to your PSU?
Is the GPU seated properly in the PCI-e socket.

We build computers at school and these are the sorts of problems that often occur.

Thanks for the answers. If I had time, removing the GPU would have been my first move. I guess I was too overzealous just throwing it all together and hoping for the best right away 😀 I'll try that tonight and let you know how it works out. Thanks again

Benching it usually requires you to reconnect every cable connection and that will often fix/uncover the problem.

I got it working. I had to remove the gpu, then while using onboard graphics, update the bios (only beta updates available) then the gpu worked. Thanks for the answers!
