Hello TH community,
I'm a first time computer builder. I have had custom PC's before but I have always had others build them for me. This time however I have decided i would go it alone. So before I go out and buy all the bits I wanted some one to check over my build and make sure I have not missed anything. I've seen people post on here to get their new builds reviewed so thought i would do the same to ensure I have not made any errors specifying parts.
The computer its self will be mainly be used for personal gaming, general entertainment (films ect), there is a small possibility I will be running design software on it (I have a work comp for that). I mainly wanted a good PC to play games on.
So here is what i have decided to go with some of the stuff is transferred from my old PC...
Case: Antec Nine Hundred (From old PC)
PSU: Corsair HX650 Professional Series HX 650W ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold PSU
Mother board: Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE
Processor: Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (3.4GHz, Ivy Bridge, 1155 Socket)
CPU Heat Sync: Corsair H60 (From old PC)
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3 16GB 1600MHz (CMP16GX3M2A1600C11)
GPU: VTX3D AMD Radeon HD 7850 X Edition Graphics Card (2GB, GDDR5, PCI Express 3.0)
HDD 1: Intel SSD 520 Series 2.5 inch 120GB 6GB/S MLC Resell 25nm Solid State Drive
HDD 2: 250Gb 7,500rpm SATA (From old PC)
HDD 3: 750Gb 7,500rpm SATA (From old PC)
BLU-RAY:8x BLU-RAY ReWritter Drive, 16x DVD R/RW (From old PC)
Card Reader: 5in1 Card reader (From old PC)
USB: 8 USB slots
I think I'm right in saying the PSU is over Spec but I wanted a modular one because the cable management options in the case are not the best. I believe this builds max wattage will be 500w please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. This will also give me the possibility to expand my system in the future.
I chose the i5 over an i7 because I don't think it will give enough extra value gaming to justify the price jump.
I really waned to make sure that all the parts I have chosen will actually go together and that I'm not missing anything. I'm happy to hear feed back (Critique) for the build.
Thank you in advance for any help!
