Hi everyone,
I'm close to bought that hardware list.... Is it look ok for you, compatibility your impression.
I will game at 1440P easy game like Borderland and maybe some new stuff . Depending on the Video card choose the price can move from 1400$ to 1500$ Canadian.

Looks fine to me aside from no mention of the PSU or chassis.

6600XT is pretty good price wise. 3060 is a little high, but you do get some cool stuff like NVENC encoding, ray tracing, DLSS, and additional tools and options. If you are pretty much only gaming though, the 6600XT is fine.

Yeah don't cheap out on the PSU either, that's one part often taken for granted, but it's a very important part.

This is what I already have
PSU I have choice between two, EVGA 750 platinum 2 or Corsair 1000 Watt

Case : Corsair 900D , a huge piece of aluminum with all the fan in place.

This is not My first so that's why I have pieces left, I need advice because for the last 2-3 years I didn't have time to follow all the new stuff in the market

I think your budget is plenty for a very good upgrade.
Yes, even in Canada.

Can you list the make/model of what you are running now?
Perhaps you can reuse more than you think.
What is your current cpu cooler?

What kinds of games do you play?
If you favor fast action games, plan on budgeting more for the graphics card.
If you play cpu centric games like sims, MMO and strategy games, then favor a stronger cpu.

5600X was the go to processor for gaming.

Today, it is more likely that a simple$250 I5-12400 processor would be better.

On graphics, the 3060 and 6600XT are comparable in price and performance.
Take your pick.
But just recently, graphics card prices have moderated.
I think, in part, because of the impending introduction of Intel discrete graphics cards to the market.
If you have a useful graphics card now, I would plan on using it for a bit longer and see what develops.
If you have no such card, use the integrated graphics of a Intel cpu.

On ram, I like the LPX ram. But, ryzen is dependent on fast ram for performance, and 3600 speed would be about the sweet spot.

On the psu, buy a unit sufficiently strong to handle your selected graphics card as well
as a future gpu upgrade.

An extra strong psu will only draw the power demanded of it, regardless of the max capability.
You may find minimal price difference between 750w and 850w, for ezample.

EVGA and Corsair make some good units, and some not so much.
Look for a unit with a 7 to 10 year warranty.

Love the 1tb samsung 970 EVO plus.
If you might fill 1tb in a year or two, buy 2tb up front.
Managing one large C drive is much easier.

Hey there,

Just a quick addition to what others have said. Although 3200mhz is fine for your ram, ideal setup would be 3600mhz, which will give you a 1:1 ratio between the FLCK/MCLK (Infinity fabric clock and mem clock) There's a little boost in performance.

Edit: Also, the 5600x is a good choice for the AMD system if you choose to go AMD. It's as fast as the 5800x in gaming, and on occasions beats it (albeit by 1 or 2 fps). but equally will be slower by only just 1 or 2 FPS for most games.

The 5600x is still a stellar gaming CPU. No doubt's about it. And it will drive any single high end GPU as well as the 5800x. Unless you absolutely need the extra cores, the 5600x is a great choice.

3070ti is a good upgrade if fast action gaming is what you do.
But, considering that the current price is some $1000 I would defer that decision if possible.
You will not be happy if similar performance becomes available at $700.

The main difference between the 5600X you initially listed and the 5800X is the change from 12 processing threads to 16.
Games rarely can make effective use of more than 4-8 threads.
Single thread performance is usually the most important cpu characteristic for gaming.
On whatever your current processor is, run the cpu-Z bench and look at the single thread performance rating.
The 12400 mentioned above scores 702:

The $350 I5-12600K with 16 threads scores 766.
If you want to be up to date, intel 12th gen is the best for gaming today.

If you go 5800X, you should up the ram speed to 3600.
3200 is fine for Intel.
