Hi all,
I'd appreciate any guidance with a new build to take advantage of BF sales.
I'm looking to keep budget around $1500. I'm a novice with PC builds, I built my current PC with a friend's help back in 2012 and it has run excellently. Since then all I've replaced are GPU (died a couple years ago) and monitor. For reference point, the components I bought for that build are below:
Storage: Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 7200.12 1TB SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN
Internal Hard Drive IR-$10 [ST31000524AS] [Reg. $139.98]
- $99.99
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Fermi 850MHZ 1024MB 4104MHZ GDDR5 2xDVI
Mini-HDMI PCI-E Video Card [01G-P3-1561-AR] [Reg. $268.79] 1
- $249.99
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K Quad Core Unlocked Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy

- $224.97
Monitor: ASUS VH236H 23 Widescreen LCD Monitor Black 1920X1080 16:9 2MS
- $169.69
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Pro REV3.1 ATX P67 LGA1155 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI
Sandy Bridge B3 Motherboard [P8P67 PRO REV 3.1] 1
- $177.99
Memory: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline Frostbyte PC3-12800 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600
9-9-9-24 1.5V Dual Channel Memory [996995]
- $44.99

8X3.5INT USB3.0 No PS [FD-CA-DEF-R3-USB3-BL]
- $114.99
PSU: Seasonic M12II 520W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX PFC 80+ Bronze Modular
Connectors 6PIN PCI-E IR-$11 [M12II 520]
- $76.99
KB/Mouse: Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710 Keyboard and Mouse Combo USB [920-002416]
[Reg. $119.99]
- $79.99
I'm not a hardcore gamer (main game is Path of Exile which represents almost all the gaming I do) and I'm not worried about running at max settings. I do want a solid build that runs fast and has the ability to play newer games (Cyberpunk) at medium settings. Apart from that I use my PC for general day-to-day tasks and am not worried about having excess storage or other capabilities.
Looking at some sale pricing on Newegg, this is the component list I came up with as a starting point:
I'm not picky about any choice in particular. I am used to Intel and GeForce for CPU/GPU respectively but not totally attached. A couple of things I am picky on: Looks - I don't want anything flashy - this will be sitting in my home office and I want a clean/discrete look. Keyboard - I use my peripherals (monitor/keyboard/mouse) to tie into my at-home work setup and I type a lot, all day every day. I need the best typing experience possible and don't want a superloud mechanical gaming keyboard.
Thanks very much in advance for any advice!
