Hey guy I need help bad, I am out of options. I just finished building a desktop and everything is hooked up to my knowledge perfectly, yet there is a problem. When I power the pc on it starts and runs, fans spin and light up but there is no display, no beeps what so ever, it is not posting. I pulled ram to see if that would get it to beep but nope. The speaker it came with is 2 pin yet the manual says it should be 4, could that be it? Any help is GREATLY Appreciated.

FIGURED IT OUT!!! The rampage IV gene mother board needed an update of its bios to be able to recognize the 4820k. Luckily the ROG lets you update with nothing but the board and a power supply. Use a usb flash drive formatted fat32, download the bios from asus website, change the file name of the folder to specified list asus provided (rampage IV gene was R4G.CAP) plug it into the ROG USB White port, press and hold the ROG button for 3 seconds, it should blink and stop when complete. Keep the sytem off, just on idle power.
Several things could cause it. The best way is to have another compatible motherboard and test all the parts individually but I don't figure that you can do that.
1. Make sure that the secondary power plug is plugged in to the motherboard from your power supply. It could be a 4, 6, or 8 pin. Not having it plugged it would cause your very problem.
2. Try booting it with as FEW components on as possible. 1 stick of ram, no video if it has onboard video etc.
3. Check the clear cmos jumper to make sure it's on the right position.
4. go over all the connections and settings again.
Now it is very possible that the motherboard or the video card are bad. You will have to be able to check them somehow. There is about a 5 percent chance of getting a bad component from the factory. Good luck, Let us know how it turns out.

The secondary power is connected, its an 8 pin. The mother board has no onboard video. Im starting to think it could be a bad CPU??? When I installed it, it seemed like I had to put a lot of pressure on the metal clips to set it in place, the cpu was properly aligned with the corner arrows so I just assumed that was the pressure it took.

Another update: I just learned that the motherboard itself has what is called Q LED's next to the 24Pin connector; they are used to pin point problems and if one is lit up, it will stay lit until the problem is solved. I noticed the one labled CPU very small red LED is lit up. QUESTION: Does that mean the CPU itself is BAD? Or the Motherboard is not recognizing it? THANKS FOR THE HELP
