Here is the proposed build.

After almost 8 years with my current PC I think it's time to upgrade. I'm mainly going to be gaming but will also be editing video in After Effects. For now I don't have any plans to overclock but may want to in the next year or two.

I am planning on gaming in 1080 for now but would like to upgrade to 4k once the monitors go down in price and will likely be going SLI after a few years. Also, I would like the option to run the Oculus Rift if that ever comes out.

It will for sure be at least 4 years before I am able to build another rig, possibly 6 to 8. I am looking to get as much use out of this build as possible, with a few possible upgrades in the next couple of years.

Is this build viable? Are there any short comings? Is there anything I went overkill on?

My budget is about 1700 to 1800 but I can go over if it will give me some more longevity.

Thanks for your help!

looks great with the exception of that EVGA NEX PSU. That PSU is way too low quality for that machine. You want at least EVGA GS/G2 series.

i'd recommend the msi gaming m5 motherboard since its near the same price and has better features

if you want a better quality 2tb drive i'd recommend these:

I edited the partlist a little, and added headphones, mouse, keyboard, monitor, wifi card, and os so that is why it is so much. Feel free to remove what you don't need.
