Question New build - I keep getting this message each time I start any game'

Hi all,

I finished a new build at the start of January (2023) and each time I start a pc game - Mech 5, Far Cry 6, Doom Eternal - I get a windows 11 pop up message saying

"Get an app to open this "MS gaming overlay link". Your PC doesn't have an app that can open this link. Try looking for a compatible app in the MS store"

Then the game does not load until I click its icon in the Taskbar and it plays fine.
It only does this once per Windows11 session and makes no difference which game I open first.

Ive not got an XBox but have turned off the "GameBar"(?) in Windows Settings.

Anyone know of a way to stop this please?

I saw this - its what led me to turn off the XBox game bar - didnt know I had one -as I said I havent got an XBox ,its not stopping me playing games its just annoying on a new pc.Ive had Windows PCs for years and never seen this before.

Yes, Microsoft are fairly new to this PC OS lark aren't they - I suppose I should cut them some slack.

Micro$oft has been making OSes for a long time. Some OSes are really good, like Win7, WinXP. While others are complete crap, like Win Vista and Win 8 (8.1).

And i agree with the ranking. ME, Vista and 8 (including 8.1) are the worst ones. While XP and Win 7 are the best ever made. Win 10 is also good but the newest Win 11 is worse.
