Hello every, been around but decided to create an account to get some input from the community. I'm currently running an FX6350 build with 8gb ram @1866 and GTX 1060 6GB. I plan on keeping my hard drives, peripherals, Windows 8.1,ect.
I want to build a new Ryzen based system starting with the 1500x. The budget sits at just about 500$ which I'm content with. It will include a new case, mobo, the 1500x, 16gb 3000MHz, and some extra fans. How does this build look? I've done some research the past days on various forums and youtubers and found this too be a good sweet spot. I don't plan on overclocking out of the gate. I've had my current set up for multiple years and just recently did I OC on stock heatsink (59*C max load while gaming surprisingly). Thanks for any inputs

not sure which 1060 or which HDD's you have so filled in with random.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($218.55 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($88.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team - T-Force / Night Hawk 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($104.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00)
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB ARMOR OCV1 Video Card (Purchased For $0.00)
Case: NZXT - S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case ($61.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair -...
if u r willing to source parts from other sources, it will come a bit cheap. i would suggest the 1600 over the 1500X. much better potential in both gaming and multitasking.
amd said it will support all high speed memory by the end of may. so save abt 20 bucks by going for the team nighthawk 3000mhz ram.

Psu is Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL 600W ATX12v. And does the r5 1600 allow for overclocking? Figured for less of a difference in performance, 1500x would be best with budget in mind. Despite a 30 dollar price difference.

i'd be looking to replace that psu with a new build . are you limited to purchasing from amazon ?

all ryzen cpus allow overclocking . the 1600 is a 6 core cpu with 12 threads so there is a considerable performance gain when multitasking , streaming, video encoding etc .

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll keep my PSU until it goes. Knock on wood but it's been going strong without a hitch. I'll look into that RAM, for 15 or 20 bucks cheaper. I normal go Amazon or new egg because they ship quick and I have bought items from them countless of times. Was unsure of some of those other sites that were mentioned for lower prices on the same piece of hardware. I might also take a trip to microcenter and see what kind of deals that they can offer. The 1600, NXT case, and gigabyte b350 I'll definitely go with.

that would be a fatal mistake to wait until it goes. when it goes there's a very high chance that it will kill some of if not all your new components .

these stores that are mentioned are used everyday by very experienced builders . you're getting the same component for a lesser price its win -win for you .

Okay I have no problem spending an extra 50$ or so on a OSU. My biggest concern has been what motherboard, cpu, and ram combo will all work together with no issues. Being that the ryzen cpu is new and how fast motherboard manufacturers were able to push out their products with no issues.
