New Build, Memory Not Showing up in Win 7 Pro

Hey all,

I just finished my first PC build and it mostly worked, but I have a couple issues.

My motherboard is: Asus P9x79
My memory is: 4x Corsair 8Gb DDR3 1600 (CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10)
(That specific number is not on the QVL, but a bunch of Corsair memory is)

MY OS is: Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit

I loaded all of the memory as instructed, in slots A0, B0, C0 and D0. It shows up in the BIOS on boot, and it shows up in Asus's System Utility (however, it shows them with a max bandwidth of 800 MHz). I have the most recent P9x79 BIOS installed.

BUT - when I view properties on my computer, it shows that I only have 16Gb of RAM.

Any clues on how to get Windows to see all 32Gb?

Any clues why they would show up in the Asus utility as 800 MHz?

Again, this is my first build and my first time using Windows at all in 8 years, so if there's a stupidly simple answer like, "Click the use-all-my-memory button," I could easily have missed it.

I did a search here, but it's not the easiest topic to drill down on. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

First off the 800 is fine, thats the true freq, this is DDR (DOUBLE data rate) so take true freq (800) times 2 to get effective/advertised = 1600. As far as 16 vs 32GB, Pro should have no problems so make sure it is Pro and not Premium (premium has a 16GB limit)...If so, may want to try raising the VCCSA voltage to 1.2 and add + 0.05 to the DRAM voltage

Tradesman,

Thanks for the reply...

I had never played with those settings, but it turns out that the VCCSA was already set at 1.2. The DRAM Voltage, CHAB and CHCD, were set to 1.5 and I raised them to 1.55 and there was no change in the memory.

It is definitely Win 7 Pro, not Premium.

Any other thoughts? Thanks again!
