I recently built a new computer but it doesn't seem to be working because the monitor is displaying anything.
All the fans that are connected to the PSU and motherboard are spinning and working. The LED path (A visual thing on my Gigabyte motherboard) is lighting up.
My case doesn't come with a speaker so I hooked up an old PC case speaker I had around. sure enough, when the computer turns on, it beeps.
CPU: Intel i5-4690K
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 (No debug LEd by the way which is disappointing but I knew it when buying).
GPU: Onboard Intel graphics (hooked up to monitor via DVI port on MOBO)
Power Supply: OCZ Stealth Stream
RAM: F3-24009D-8GTXD (Right now, only one stick is plugged in to the first RAM slot).
SSD: Corsair Force LX 240Gb
I'll keep updating as I continue my testing the system and finding where the issue is to the best of my ability.
Things i'm doing:
1) Computer speakers beeps once
2) I have switched PSUs and still have same issue.
3) Tried to reset CMOS as per my MOBO manual. I turned off the PSU and unplugged it. Tried to pop the battery out with my finger (i'm touching the case so I should be grounded. Also, I didn't touch the motherboard itself. Couldn't get it out so I used the jumper. As per the mobo manual, I used a screwdriver to touch the two pins together for a few seconds then took the srewdriver off. I then wait a few more seconds and plugged my PSU back in and pressed the power button. Now, the computer won't even turn on!
4) Waited a few more minutes and now I can turn on the computer and here that single beep. Still no display.
5) Took out one of the RAM sticks. Still doesn't work. I then also switched the RAM sticks around to the different slots. I still only get the fans spinning and a beep but still no display.
