Hi everyone i have a very tuff desision as upcoming games are starting to use more then 4 cores like witcher 3 and im doing my first build 1500$ Can.... now i was going to buy a gtx 970 but r9 290 tri x sapphire is over 100$ cheaper if i buy the r9 290 tri x i can buy a i7 4770k and if i get the gtx 970 3.5 gigs of ram i can only buy the i5 4690k any one have any opinions ? should i get the i7 or i5 ?

Solution
Go with the Xeon, and an R9 290 then. You still get i7 performance, and decent graphics capability. I can make it cheaper yet, but wanted to leave some upgrade options open.

Here is a non overclocking/SLI capable rig, with an SSD. CPU performance would be on par with an i7 4770.
