Picked up a second hand R9 280X Vapor-X for $220 and 8GB of G-Skill RAM for $70 so I'm thinking of just buying the rest of the parts new.

What do you guys think of this build?
Mainly to be used for some 1080p gaming and general use.

Motherboard AsRock Z97m Pro4 - $129
CPU Intel i5 4460 - $239
CPU Cooler CoolerMaster Hyper T4 - $33
RAM G.SKill Ripjaws-X 8gb Kit - $70**
GPU Sapphire R9-280X Vapor - $220**
SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250gb - $145
PSU EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750w - $145
Case CoolerMaster Silencio 352 - $76

**already bought second hand

****Didn't make it clear at the start, live in Aus and these are the prices I'm going by http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf****

Solution
Well, based on your build it`s not sure if you want to overclock or not, since the CPU is a non-overclockable one.
In this case, the Z97 movo is overkill, and a H97 at best is recommended.
Also, in this case, the CPU cooler is not needed, and you can just use the default one that comes with the CPU.

If you will not OC, drop the cooler and get an H97 or H91 mobo, and see if this allows you to go for an i5 4690 non-K.

The rest of your build looks fine!
You do not need Z97 chipset motherboard if you do not plan to overclock, sionce the CPU 4460 isnt capable of overclocking, drop to a MUCH cheaper H97 chipset motherboard.

T4 Coolermaster isn't really worth it above a Hyper 212 EVO.

Overkill PSU, get a ~550W unit.

Pretty much it.

It says 750Watt minimum for the 280X on the sapphire website. Is that not correct?

Hiya Pal!

How about these parts?http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qkKCqs
Ive lowered the PSU as you wont be consuming that much power and it will save you some dough, in addition ive added a different CPU as you can overclock with the 4670k if things get to much for your system in the future!

Happy Gaming!

Mitch :)

I live in Australia btw, cheapest for the 4690k is $300 bucks 🙁 oh and the 212 EVO doesn't fit in the case

Right. Ok so which is better (HCG is the cheapest by $20, other two the same)

Antec HCG Modular 520
Antec True Power 80+ Gold 550
Corsair 80+ Gold CS550M

OH! Aussie dollars, always catches me out! The H97 is way is for you, a stock cooler is all that's really needed as you're not going for overclocking however you can take something else for looks and aditional cooling if you feel your temps aren't good enough

I personally wouldn't suggest that PSU.

My suggestion: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650bbefx

The XFX psu may be slightly more expensive however is a strong solid 80+ rated GOLD PSU.

The reason I chose a 650W psu is due to headroom for upgradability though I doubt you'll be upgrading to anything too power hungry!

Limited to Antec and Corsair unfortunately.

This is what I'm going by: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf (page 2 middle column second last box)

Im thinking these ones:

Antec HCG Modular 520
Antec True Power 80+ Gold 550
Corsair 80+ Gold CS550M

Yeah i guess I could, but the EVGA 750Watt is only 5 bucks more than that and is available at the store I'll end up going to get the rest of the parts: http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf (page 2 for psu's)
