I am working with a new build (for the first time in a long time, switching back from Macs)
MSI H87-G43
I5-4670 (Stock heat sink and fan)
Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x8)
EVGA GTX 760
However when I power on, there are no beeps and nothing display on the monitor (DVI connected, if it matters).
I have tried
1) Running the mobo out of the case to check for shorts
2) Yanking everything out except CPU and 1 stick of memory
3) Yanking out that last stick of memory
4) Popping the battery out for a few minutes.
No luck.
Searching these forums it seems that case speakers/beep codes are a thing of the past.
For what its worth, the CPU and case fans are running. There doesn't seem to be any heat at all coming from the CPU, but I'm not sure that there would be. The MSI manual mentions a jumper to reset CMOS, but there isn't once included.
Is there anything else I can try? Or do I just admit that I'm an old man, and take it somewhere .
Thanks!
