New Build No POST

Hello, I am currently working on a PC for a friend. Everything powers on, fans spin with no post.

MSi 975 Platinum PowerUp Edition
Core 2 Quad Q8400
8gb DDR2 800
Western Digital Blue 500gb HDD

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

remove everything except video card, minimum ram that the motherboard supports, cpu fan, and try then. Check your video card to make sure you are providing power to it (assuming it needs power).
Check the obvious.
Is the monitor set to the right video input?
Is the ram correctly seated?
Finally use your own system to try and verify that all the parts you selected for your friend are in fact working.

Probably because the Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q8400 isn't a supported CPU model on that motherboard.
