Question New build not booting ?

Hello, I'm doing a new PC build, and have encountered an issue where nothing seems to happen when I jump the motherboard with a screw driver. Lights are showing on the back of the motherboard when the PSU is on, however I dont think these are the lights to indicate faulty RAM/CPU/VGA/Boot, as these are in the front and not showing any lights at all. The 24 pin to mobo, 8pin to cpu are all fitted, no gaps. I'm using the CPU's integrated graphics at the moment, however I tried with the GPU as well and the issue persists.

The strange part is that I did the same setup yesterday with the GPU and it worked fine, booted into BIOS, showed RAM, CPU, M2 SSD. However, when I wanted to exit the BIOS, it would launch into BIOS again, but I dont know if this was indicative of anything faulty. After the successful boot, I put the motherboard into the case with the GPU, all standoffs were screwed in (8 total), headers all connected, and it wouldn't turn on at all when I pressed the power button, only the back motherboard lights would show when the PSU was on.

I tested the PSU with a paperclip and the PSU seems to work, the fan would spin for a moment. I also cleared CMOS, issue still persists. Tried with 1 slot RAM as well, still same issue. CPU, RAM, M2 SSD, GPU worked fine yesterday, so I dont think these are faulty, but I'm no expert. PSU could potentially be an issue, where it does not give enough power to the mobo, despite working with the paperclip. My best guess is something is wrong with the mobo, a short perhaps. It would have to happen after putting the mobo in the case, but I dont know why...
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Did you solve the issue? IF yes, please describe the solution.
I have a similar problem, described in this thread:

No one seems to know what to do, when simple solutions have been exhausted. 🙁

I would agree with this assessment. Try removing the motherboard from the case and placing it onto the static bag it came in. Put all the components on and cables plugged in as if you were using it inside the case. Then try booting. If it works without issues, then you know that you are shorting out. Ensure that when the risers are installed you are not putting to many in, and make sure you are not putting in too little as well. It could also just be that you shorted it out while putting it in the case without even realizing it, which is a real possibility if you built it in a carpeted room with socks on.
