Hey guys, I have just put together my first PC today, When it booted to BIOS everything showed as working but my 2TB Hard drive was not showing in the BIOS and is not showing in Windows, my M.2 SSD is fine and fully working but my hard drive isn't. I think it may be broken but is there any ways to make sure? Cheers

Which motherboard, and which exact port is the HDD connected in.
Usually, use of the m.2 port disables one or more SATA ports on the motherboard.

I have the ASRock x370 Taichi
I'm using Crucial MX300 SSD M.2 in the M.2 ULTRA port
The Hard drive is plugged into either slot 5 or 6 on the motherboard.

Try a different SATA port for the HDD.

Just tried putting it into port 2 and still no joy

Not seen in BIOS, it's a fresh Hard drive so no data on it. In Disk management we got it to show as DISK 0 but it didnt show how much stroage was on it and it had a little red symbol (may have been an x) next to where it said DISK 0

Step one is to get it seen in the bios. You do have two cables plugged into it right? A power cable from your PSU, and a data cable that goes to the motherboard? In the bios, is there an option to turn SATA ports on or off? Can it be seen with the M.2 drive removed? Pull the drive, bent pins on the HDD? (This one got me once, couldn't understand why a data drive wasn't seen.) Try a different cable in case of damaged SATA cable?

It won't let me initialize the drive in Disk Management.
Just tried it in my old PC and it won't recongnise there either

Thank to everyone who replied, I tried it out in my old PC and it still wouldn't work, turns out it the Hard drive was DOA.
Went out and bought a new one and it let me initialize it instantly! My new PC build is working now, Happy days!!
