New Build Occasionally Freezes up

Hi everyone. I have just purchased a new ASRock mother board and AMD FX 8250 3.5 ghz processor.

I have 2 SSD and one hard disk drive. Every part in my computer is new except for my RAM which is 4 years old at this point, CD Rom drive, and my hard disk drive.

When I installed my new mother board and processor, I noticed that sometimes my computer freezes up when I am multitasking with multiple web browsing applications up. I find this really weird because technically my system is a "fresh" build with the new processor and mother board. The freezes happen for 30 - 45 seconds at a time and the system becomes completely unresponsive even to control-alt-delete for task manager.

My friend suggested that this might be an issue with my low Power supply unit - 430 Watts Corsair. But I am running a standard system with only a Nvidia 750 ti graphics card so I'm not really sure if I am reaching over the capacity in terms of power.

I also think it might be that my ram chips are going bad but I've read that RAM chips should last up to 10 years with no problem.

What do you guys think this is?? Please help.

If you had problems with power requirements then your system wouldn't even boot up, or it would boot, and the whole thing would run in some weird low power mode with constant beeping and some weird purple monochromatic colors.

Memory does last for 10 years... in an office, sitting nice and cozy with 75% of it being empty all the time.

Run memory diagnostic:

Which ASRock board and how old is that corsair PSU? I do not suggest having a 430w psu with this system, but it should work...

Another possibility is the RAM, run memtest86 or something with each stick of ram to make sure none of it is faulty.

I also suggest maybe trying to uninstall all possible software/drivers which would lead back to the prior motherboard, it could be one possible problem that you're having.

Okay thanks for the tip. But do you think that it could be that i am running my system on border line full capacity? One of my fans have been switched off and the system seems to have less incidents. About 30 % less in occurrence. I was wondering if my system ran at a higher capacity and higher temperature then the system would crash until the system had time to adjust to the "peak capacity" of power - which is causing the crashes that I am seeing..

I ran the memory diagnostic: Win+r => mdsched.exe and no problems were detected.

Any other feedback? Do you think my reasoning is valid?

My mother board is the Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0. I dont think this is either processor or mother board defect specific because I have previously purchased an FX 6300 amd and MSI recent board. The incidents happened a lot more often when I have the previous "fresh" build. I was thinking that the AMD FX 8250 would have more cores and thus solve the problem of crashes.. but this isn't the case. My system just became unresponsive upon boot up after I restarted from the memory test. Also I have wiped my drives clean about 3x already and installed a fresh Windows 8.1 operating system. So I don't think there are any old drivers on the SSD at this point...

Any other suggestions at this point?

Hmmm... if only you had BSOD, then it would make this easier since the file or hardware responsible could be identified.
