OK doing new build, sort of. More accurately an upgrade overhaul. I am reusing PSU, HDD, RAM, and DVD drive. I am replacing the MB, CPU, and GPU.

So I have a two part question.

1. Once built do I just slap in new GPU and existing HDD as is then start up? By existing HDD I mean just the way it is now with Win 7 and my file on it from old MB, CPU, and GPU. Can the HDD and Win 7 adapt to new environment?

2. Or should I wipe the hard drive, leave out GPU until I have loaded a new clean install? After clean OS install then install GPU?

1. You need to install the drivers that came on a disk with the motherboard

2. Try as is (with GPU) and if that doesn't work, then re-install Windows.

I just update my mobo from ASRock X79 Extreme 3 to Extreme 6.

The only problem I had was my mouse didn't work. Eventually it installed the driver itself and away I went.
