Hello, I am building a new computer and am buying all new parts. I wanted to know if these parts would be compatible with each other. Also leave a suggestion if the parts are good or bad. I am using the computer for 3D modeling/ gaming, if there is any better parts for around the same price Please tell me and explain. Thank you

Hopfully these parts are durable and can last me a long time

Thanks you for your answer
Sorry but im pretty new to computers, what is the disk unlocker? is it a setting when i boot up the pc?

It is an app with the Motherboard. You'll see it after you have installed the operating systen and then you are installing the Motherboard drivers & Apps. Most Motherboards will not run a Hard Drive larger than 2 TB. This app will unlock the Motherboard so you can run the full 3 Tb of the Hdd you are installing. I was using the P8Z68- V Pro Motherboard before I upgraded.

wow okok thanks

heres what i would get instead
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/18ABU

-haswell is faster overall. might as well go with the newer stuff
- a pro series board wont help with performance. a standard board like the A series or on ivy bridge the LK boards have everything that you actually need
-same ram, but 40 bucks cheaper
-you need a SSD
-stronger GPU
-better case
-same psu, but cheaper and full modular. make sure to get a 550w if you arent going to SLI later on in the future.

thanks for your reply! okok i see, is thor v2 not a good case?? and do i need a ssd because i know it helps boot my pc faster but because i am doing 3dmodeling i need alot of memory and ssd is pretty expensive per gb. also i might wait for the gtx 760 gpu because i think it comes out around june 25?? also i want the option to sli in the future :)

You DON'T need one, but they are nice. If yu have a good Hdd such as a WD Caviar Black SATA III, you wil be alright until such time as you can get one. Not sure of the case, but if it is roomy and has good airflow then it should be fine.

That MOBO is Full ATX, but not Extended. I agree, that the Full size case may be a bit of overkill. A Mid sized case would do just as well and are easy to work in. The difference IS huge for sure. I remember when I put the one in here and was blown away at the speed of that thing.

yea i see what you guys are saying. yea i chose the full tower case because if i want later, have the option of putting e-atx or just having more space for about 30-50$ is ok i think. yea i will probably buy a ssd later when i have more money. For the ssd do i configure it to make 60gb of it a cache space to make the computer faster or if i just plug in a ssd with a hdd will it work?

i chose a new mobo and cpu i7-4770k and asus z87-pro because they had a $100 discount, so total is 1180

fair enough for the board and CPU

-change the ram for the cheaper kit i selected. the corsair kit first of all doesnt even perform better and it doesnt fit unless you use the other slots
-you need the SSD. your system is effectively bottlenecked by using only a hard drive
-if you cannot actually fill up 3tb, dont get one
-there is no reason to get the full tower. you are never going to get a e-atx board as hardly anyone produces them anymore and if they do, they arent true e-atx in the sense that they are only an inch wider than standard atx, which pretty much every case can account for
