Hey!

I've just finished building my new PC.
Upon startup, everything was fine. However, I did notice a constant yellow light on the Motherboard.
Monitor had signal, the CPU and Both Ram sticks where detected. I could also set the XMP without any issue.
GPU Fans aswell as all the other Fans where spinning, Motherboard was at 30°C temperature

Now upon Troubleshooting, i read that one possible cause could be Motherboard Standoffs.
I definately did not install any, the only Package of Standoffs i have are 3x EATX, however my Board is ATX
Tried to google it for both Motherboard and Case and did not find any usefull information on what Standoffs to use, if i should use em etc

I did not change anything with the Bios that came. I have no clue about how the Bios works,
how to update / what to update. Might be the cause?

Before i fry my setup, i wanted to come here incase any of y'all know what that issue could be.
I want to avoid touching the motherboard as much as i can.

Thanks!

My Components:
Case: Montec Air 903 BASE
Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming B650-E Wifi

Tried looking for the LED that corresponds to the device/aspect of the build that's the issue but can't see to find it. You might want to look closer on the motherboard and the LED that's lit up, next to it you'll see text. I'm assuming it's Boot or CPU. Can you confirm? I re-read your motherboard manual;
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/..._WIFI_UM_WEB.pdf?model=TUF GAMING B650-E WIFI
page viii ; You sure it's yellow and not yellow green? If yellow, then it's your ram.

You forgot to mention the make and model of the case. To add, you also forgot to mention the make and model of your PSU. If you're recycling the unit from an older platform, please include it's age as well.

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
Are the rams populating slots A2 and B2? Got a link to the ram you're working with?

CPU: AMD 7800x3D
How are you cooling the processor?

If you're unsure of what you're looking at or how to describe the issue, you can host images on a site like Imgur and then pass on a link for us to take a look at them.

Thanks for the reply!

My bad, left out those important details...

Everything is completely new and unused

Case: Montec Air 903 Base
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN580 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME

Yes, i made sure to put the RAM Sticks in the 2nd(DIMM A2) and 4th(DIMM B2) Slots as per the Manual.
Had to slightly raise the back Fan of my Cooler to do so.

Just put the remaining parts in the Packages and i've noticed that i still have the m.2 Heatsink off.
Under 1.5 in the manual, it talks about taking it off and adding a Rubber Padding.
I failed to fully understand the info on the m.2 install process and since the 2280 was correct,
assumed that this is my version of m.2.
I could not find anything about reinstalling it.

The RAM is this one:

I'll try to get a Screenshot of the Lights. I couldn't tell you 100% if it was Yellow or Green,
since i have a Yellow-Green colourblindness. I'll let you know shortly!

Thanks for your help by the way, im still very new to PC Building

Edit:
Im pretty sure the Light is Green and you where correct in the Guess, it says "Boot" on the Motherboard where the Light is

Edit2:
Here are the Screenshots. Unfortunately,
they look even worse after Uploading. Not much you can see

Also some Info that might be usefull:
I plugged the PSU into the Graphics Card directly and i am using a VERY old Monitor that i had to get a DVI-HDMI converter cable for. My new Monitor is still being shipped and should arrive soon

Also got a USB Stick with Windows 11 install ready

Sorry for the late reply!

Turns out, i think i've figured it out.
Whenever the PC starts, the Motherboard quickly cycles through the colours. (Red, Yellow, White)
My guess is that its testing for errors. Eventually, it stays on green.

I tried to just go ahead with the windows install and after i was done, rebootet and the Green Light was gone.

You could close or even delete this post as it wasn't really an error, it was just telling me to install Windows
Thanks for your help @Lutfij !
