[SOLVED] New Build thoughts

After much thought and research over the past month I decide to upgrade my PC. My old build was an i5 7600k w/ 16gb RAM & GTX 1070. I'm starting to do a lot more gaming on my pc and noticed a lack of performance in newer title games such as modern warfare, valorant, and GTA 5. I plan on playing a lot more games, especially newer titles.

The reason I am making this post is to get recommendations, and hear your guys' thoughts on the direction I took my build. There really isn't much of a budget as I planned on spending about $1200-$1500 on upgrades and went way over that. So with all of that being said, I want to get the most bang for my buck while also providing myself at least 5 years of high end gaming performance on 1080p and 1440p. ***I bought all of pc parts from Microcenter so if you want to browse their inventory that's where I'll be shopping.

I don't know why you're rebuilding the whole thing. There are many parts that you can still re-use and should still work very well.

What can be re-used:

• Storage units (you can add an NVME drive if you'd like)
• PSU is still considered as top-notch nowadays and probably still under warranty
• CPU Cooler
• Case
• Case Fans
• Mouse & Keybaord
• Monitor can be used as a secondary monitor if you'd like to buy yourself a new one

This way your budget will be more manageable and/or if you wanna blow the budget: you can focus it on getting a better GPU to pair with the 10700K as that CPU should have a very VERY long lifespan.

Also, you might want to consider waiting until the end of September as the new GPUs are coming. You might want to pick up a recent one or at least the 2080/S/Ti will be cheaper.

Plus, new AMD CPUs are coming in the last quarter this year. Technically the 7600K is still quite good. You can just pick up a GPU first and then pick up the CPU later on. That's the whole beauty of Desktop PCs.

I agree with above at this point you really want to wait for next gen gpu’s.

As for 5 years high end gaming. How long the cpu will last will depend on the target FPS, are you aiming for 60, 100, 120+?

As for the gpu I have a 2080 Super and game at 1440p. I’m trying to get 120+ FPS in modern AAA titles and the 2080S is not exactly over powered, it’s just enough. Even if aiming for 60fps I cannot see this level of gpu lasting 5 years at 1440p. 1080p probably but not 1440p.
