Hi all,
So I need you fantastic people’s help with my new build...

Specs:
CPU: AMD threadripper 1900X
Motherboard: MSI Carbon Pro AC X399
Ram: Corsair dominator platinum 16 DDR4 GB (2 dimms)
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080Ti
PSU: Corsair RM 1000i

No bios incompatibility
There is a red LED that is lit on the board if the PSU is switched on, but when I go to turn on the system NOTHING happens. Double checked front panel wiring, CPU power 8 pin plugged in. The PSU works, I bridged it in order to use my pump (it's a custom loop). My board has a power button on it, that does nothing so it's not a faulty front panel switch problem.

No fans spin, no new leds when I hit the button.... what else can I do?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Hi donnyblue17 🙁

Well if all cabling is correct and functional with 24pin,8pin and any required 4pin are installed and the PSU is known to be good and the internal power switch does not work then you need to RMA the MB.
I'm hoping it's a motherboard short against the case, and not a dead motherboard. I know you have your loop setup, but the only way to test this is to breadboard your motherboard.

In other words, taking the motherboard out of the case, placing it on top of something non conductive, install the bare minimum for booting (no hard drives) and booting from there.

You'll need a CPU air cooler to do this.

Which led is red?
There are 4 at the top front of the board and one 'demo' left in front of the bottom pcie slot.

Do you have all 4 power connectors on the motherboard filled? 24pin, two 8-pin cpu power, and an 8 pin pcie power.
Is your memory in the right slots? One in each slot (left & right side) furthest from the processor.
Is the Cmos clear jumper off of both pins?
