Question New Build turns on then straight off

Hi,

I have just built my first PC from scratch and when I turn the pc on everything powers up and then shuts off. It then try’s again and the same keeps happing. Nothing appears on screen?

Any help?

The memory controller is integrated into the CPU. A short at the CPU socket level could interrupt the communication between CPU and memory. Just presumptions.

Ah right. I’ve ordered a replacement board anyway it arrives on Tuesday so I’ll see what happens. Do you think the PSU could be an issue also?

No, I don't think so. When receiving the new board, try installing the CPU and CPU cooler without using the Blu-Tack. Test it firstly outside the case.

If not very difficult to install, go with it. Not recommended to remove / reinstall coolers.
